We started Mews Construction in 2016 because we kept seeing property owners in the Bronx get burned by contractors who disappeared, overcharged, or just didn’t do the work right. The fix was simple: one team, clear communication, honest prices. That’s still how we operate.

Do you handle permits and co-op/condo board approvals?
Yes. We manage all DOB permits and coordinate with co-op and condo boards on alteration agreements, insurance certificates, and project documentation. Navigating the NYC permitting process is part of what we do — you don’t have to deal with it.
How long does a renovation take?
Bathroom renovations typically run 3–6 weeks once work starts. A full apartment renovation is usually 3–6 months. The honest answer depends on your building’s approval process — some go fast, some don’t. We give you a realistic schedule in the proposal and update you as the job moves.
Do you do small repairs, or only large projects?
Both. A repair call gets the same crew and the same standards as a gut renovation job. Most of our long-term client relationships started with something small — a leak, a broken step, a room that needed painting. We show up for those too.
Will renovation increase my property's resale value?
In most cases, yes — particularly in NYC, where updated kitchens and bathrooms tend to move the needle significantly. We make material and finish choices with long-term value in mind, not just the immediate visual. What looks good in photos also needs to hold up in appraisals.
