Kitchen Remodeling

The kitchen is the room that gets used hardest, and usually the last one people get around to updating. We have done enough of them to know the problems people hate most are the same every time — not enough counter space, cabinets that do not close right, lighting that makes the whole room feel dark, and layouts that worked fine in 1985 but do not work for how anyone actually cooks today.

Our work covers layout redesign, cabinet installation, countertop replacement, backsplash tile, under-cabinet lighting, plumbing fixture upgrades, flooring, and full gut renovations. Some clients want a basic refresh. Others want the whole thing torn out and rebuilt. We do both.

We pull permits for structural and plumbing changes and coordinate with your building management if you are in a co-op or condo. Kitchen jobs in NYC buildings have paperwork attached — we know how to get through it without losing months.

03

Basement Finishing

An unfinished basement is money sitting unused. In New York City, where every square foot matters, finishing your basement is one of the most practical renovations you can make — a home office, a rental unit, a guest room, a playroom, a home gym, or usable storage.

We assess the space first for moisture, drainage, and ceiling height before we talk about anything else. Bronx and NYC basements often have issues that need to be addressed before finishing starts, and ignoring them upfront costs more to fix later. Once the space is sound, we handle framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, electrical, lighting, and egress windows where needed.

If you plan to use the basement as a rental unit, we can also advise on the permit and Certificate of Occupancy requirements that apply in your borough.

General Contracting

When a project gets complicated enough to need someone managing multiple trades, that is where a general contractor earns their fee. We coordinate plumbers, electricians, tile setters, carpenters, painters, and any other trades your project requires. We run the schedule, manage materials, deal with permit offices, and keep the job moving so you are not calling seven different people every morning.

We have been doing this since 2016 and have completed more than 100 projects in NYC. That experience matters because NYC construction has layers of complexity that out-of-state contractors and inexperienced locals consistently underestimate — building boards, DOB filings, stop work orders. We have navigated all of it.

If you are not sure whether your project needs a general contractor or if a specialty contractor would be enough, call us and we will give you an honest answer.

Full Home Renovation

A full home renovation is a different kind of project from a room-by-room remodel. Everything happens at once, in a specific sequence, with multiple trades in coordination. Get the sequencing wrong and you tile a floor before the plumber has finished rough-in, then tear it back up. It is expensive.

We manage full gut renovations for apartments, brownstones, single-family homes, and multi-unit buildings. Scope typically includes demo, structural work, framing, mechanical rough-ins (plumbing, electrical, HVAC), insulation, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, tile, painting, trim, and all finish work. We coordinate every trade on the same schedule and update you weekly.

We also manage the permit process from start to finish, including architect or engineer drawings when the scope requires them, and prepare board-approval documentation when needed.

Residential Construction

Residential construction covers a broad range of work beyond remodeling: new room additions, second-story additions, garage conversions, accessory dwelling units, and new construction on vacant lots. In NYC, every project goes through the Department of Buildings, and plans must be drawn and filed before a shovel goes in the ground.

We work with a network of licensed architects and structural engineers who understand NYC zoning and building codes. They handle the design and filings. We handle the construction. That separation means you have professionals in each role focused on their area of expertise.

If you own a property in the Bronx or elsewhere in NYC and are figuring out whether a planned addition or new structure is feasible, start with a call. We give you a realistic picture before you spend money on drawings.

07

Commercial Construction

We work on commercial build-outs, renovations, and tenant improvements across NYC. Our typical clients are small business owners — restaurant owners, retail operators, office tenants, and landlords building out space for commercial tenants.

Commercial construction in NYC has different permit requirements and inspection processes than residential work. We know the difference. We file correctly, work with the city on inspections, and have experience with the compliance requirements that come up in food service, healthcare, and retail environments.

If you are signing a new lease and need to build out the space before you open, we work on your timeline. We know every day you are not open is revenue you are not collecting.

08

Masonry & Brickwork

Most of the housing stock in the Bronx is brick. Brick buildings last a long time when properly maintained, and they look good doing it. But brick pointing fails, mortar joints crack, and water gets into places it should not be. Left alone, small problems become structural ones.

Our masonry work includes brick pointing and repointing, parapet wall repair, lintel replacement, brownstone repair, stucco patching, and chimney work. We assess the full extent of any damage before we quote, because visible deterioration is often just part of the picture.

We also do masonry for new construction — retaining walls, steps, stoops, planters, and decorative brick or block work.

What's included

09

Drywall Installation & Repair

Drywall work sounds simple until you have seen it done badly. Uneven seams, visible tape lines, patches that show through paint — things you notice every time you walk into a room. We do drywall installation and repair to a finish standard that actually disappears under paint.

We install drywall for new construction, additions, and basement finishes. We also do patch repairs after water damage, electrical work, or plumbing repairs that required opening walls. If prior work left holes in your walls, we close them properly.

For larger jobs, we install fire-rated drywall, moisture-resistant drywall in wet areas, and soundproof assemblies in bedrooms or home offices.

What's included

10

Flooring Installation

Floors have a bigger impact on how a space feels than most people expect. New flooring in an older apartment can make the whole place look renovated even when nothing else has changed. We install hardwood, engineered wood, tile, luxury vinyl, and laminate.

For hardwood, we install new floors and refinish existing ones. Old hardwood in Bronx brownstones and pre-war apartments is often in better condition than it looks — it just needs sanding and refinishing to come back, which is a lot cheaper than replacement.

We assess the subfloor before we start any flooring job. A new floor laid over a bad subfloor will squeak, flex, and fail early. We fix what needs fixing underneath first.

What's included

11

Painting & Interior Finishing

We do interior painting as both a standalone service and as part of larger renovation projects. Our crews do proper prep work — filling, sanding, priming — because paint is only as good as the surface it goes on. Skipping prep is how you get paint that peels in two years.

Beyond painting, our interior finishing includes trim installation, crown molding, baseboards, door and window casing, built-in shelving, and custom millwork. These finish details separate a renovation that looks complete from one that looks almost complete.

If you have just finished a larger renovation and need painting and finish carpentry to close it out, we do that as a standalone scope.

What's included

12

Patio & Outdoor Construction

In New York City, outdoor space is valuable. A backyard that is just dirt and weeds is an opportunity. We build patios, decks, pergolas, fences, and outdoor kitchens across the Bronx and NYC. We also do yard grading, drainage corrections, and landscaping prep.

Bronx properties with attached yards often have drainage issues that make the space unusable after rain. Before we build anything, we look at where the water goes. A patio built on a yard with drainage problems will settle, crack, and flood. We address the root cause first.

We use concrete, pavers, bluestone, and composite decking depending on the project and your preference. Everything is built to local code, with permits where required.

What's included

13

Foundation Repair

Foundation problems make homeowners nervous, and they should take them seriously. But not every crack in a foundation wall is a structural emergency. Some are cosmetic. Some indicate settling that stabilized decades ago. Some do need structural repair. The first step is figuring out which kind you have.

We assess foundation issues before recommending any work — crack patterns, moisture infiltration, floor levelness, and door and window alignment. When structural repair is warranted, we work with licensed structural engineers on the repair plan and pull the required permits.

We also do waterproofing as part of foundation repair — interior drainage systems, exterior waterproofing membranes, and sump pump installation. Stopping water infiltration is often as important as the structural repair itself.

What's included

14

Concrete & Sidewalk Work

In New York City, property owners are responsible for the sidewalk in front of their building. A cracked or sunken sidewalk can result in a DOT violation and a fine. We repair sidewalks to DOT specifications, remove violations, and handle the paperwork confirming the work was completed.

Our concrete work also covers driveways, stoops, stairs, curbs, poured concrete patios, and flatwork in general. We pour, finish, and seal concrete to last in the freeze-thaw cycles that New York winters put it through.

If you have received a DOT sidewalk violation notice, the repair window is usually 75 days. We have done enough of these to move quickly when we need to.

What's included

15

Home Repairs & Maintenance

Most contractors only want large renovation jobs. We take the smaller work too — and not as an afterthought. Water damage repairs, door and window replacements, drywall patches after a plumber cuts open a wall, re-grouting tile, fixing a damaged ceiling, replacing a broken fence section. These jobs matter to the homeowner who needs them done, and we treat them that way.

We also do pre-sale repairs for homeowners getting a property ready to list. A long punch list of small issues can scare buyers or depress offers. We work through those lists efficiently and on short timelines when needed.

If you have something that needs fixing that does not fit neatly into a category, call (718) 281-6000 and describe what you are dealing with. Chances are we have handled it before.
